# GitHub integration

Source: https://docs.sliplane.io/more/github

Learn how to integrate your GitHub account with your Sliplane account.

To deploy from GitHub, open the account menu in Sliplane and select **Repository Access**. Choose which repositories Sliplane can access on GitHub.

The repositories appear in the deploy form. If one is missing, click **Refresh List** after saving your GitHub settings.

## What is the Sliplane GitHub App doing?

Sliplane uses GitHub to sign you in, build your code, and trigger deployments when you push to the selected branch.

### What permissions does the Sliplane GitHub App need?

#### Read access to code and metadata

Allows Sliplane to clone selected repositories for builds and read metadata such as the default branch.

#### Read and write access to repository hooks

Allows Sliplane to create push-event webhooks for repositories you deploy. The webhooks are deleted when you delete the service.

#### Read access to organization membership

Allows Sliplane to check that you have the repository admin access required to create webhooks.
