# Create a Server

Source: https://docs.sliplane.io/servers/create-a-server

Learn how to get started with Sliplane servers.

Create a server to run one or more services. It belongs to your active team and uses that team's billing account.

Open the [servers overview](https://sliplane.io/app/servers) and click **Create Server**.

## Location

When creating a server, you can choose from five different locations:

* 🇩🇪 Germany
* 🇫🇮 Finland
* 🇺🇸 US-East
* 🇺🇸 US-West
* 🇸🇬 Singapore

## Server Types

Choose CPU, memory and disk capacity for your workload. Start small and use [metrics](/servers/metrics) to decide when to scale.

Disk can [grow independently](/servers/scaling-a-server) of compute. See the [pricing page](https://sliplane.io/pricing) for available sizes.

## Additional Info

Give your server a name to identify it later.

## Startup Time

If you first create a new server, it will usually take less than 5 seconds until you can start deploying services.

## Cost and Free Trial

Choose hourly, monthly or yearly billing when creating a paid server. The dashboard shows the quote for your selected compute, disk, region and billing period. You can create a ***demo server*** for free to try the service without a payment method. Demo servers are limited in resources and can only be created twice.

> **warn**
>
> If you do not have a payment method attached to your team, these **demo servers will be deleted 48 hours after creation** and all data on them will be lost. Demo servers are not a long-term free tier. After adding a payment method, demo servers will be converted to paid servers and will not be deleted.
