# Billing & Pricing

Understand billing for servers, managed PostgreSQL, and Object Storage.

## How Billing Works

Billing is managed per team. Servers, managed PostgreSQL databases, and Object Storage are billed separately on that team's account. The team owner is responsible for payment.

> Prices exclude VAT. Your billing address determines whether VAT is added.

### Per-Server Pricing

App Runtime is priced per server. You can run as many services as the server's CPU, memory and disk can support without a separate per-service charge.

### Billing periods

For servers and managed PostgreSQL, you can choose:

* **Hourly**: pay as you go at the displayed hourly rate.
* **Monthly**: a monthly plan with a 20% discount compared with hourly pricing.
* **Yearly**: an annual plan with a 33% discount compared with hourly pricing.

Choose the billing period when creating a resource, or change it on the resource's **Upgrade** page.

### Per-Hour Billing

On an hourly plan, charges depend on how long the resource exists, not CPU usage, request count or traffic. Partial hours are rounded up.

An idle server costs the same as a busy server. Pausing a service does not stop server charges, and pausing a managed database does not stop its charges either.

### Billing Cycle and Billing Threshold

Your team's billing page shows the current billing period, accrued charges and invoices. Payments can be collected during the period when your billing threshold is reached, so an invoice can arrive before the period ends.

### How to Stop Billing

Remove the paid resources you no longer need from each team:

* **App Runtime**: delete the server. Pausing or deleting its services alone does not stop server charges.
* **Managed PostgreSQL**: delete the database after exporting any data you need.
* **Object Storage**: delete the buckets and allow deletion to complete. Storage already used during the billing period can still appear on the final invoice.

Deleting a resource does not erase outstanding charges.

## Billing Portal

Open your team's [billing page](https://sliplane.io/app/team/billing) to review costs and invoices. Use **Manage billing data** to open the Stripe billing portal for billing details and invoice management.

### Payment methods

On the billing page, you can add multiple payment methods, choose the default, and remove methods you no longer use.

### Credits and coupons

View your credit balance and redeem coupons on the billing page. Eligible credit is applied to charges automatically.

## Server Pricing Tiers

See the [pricing page](https://sliplane.io/pricing) for server sizes and disk options.

## Managed PostgreSQL Pricing

Managed databases are billed separately for compute and disk. See [Database Pricing](/databases/pricing).

## Object Storage Pricing

Object Storage is billed separately based on average stored data. See [Object Storage Pricing](/object-storage/pricing) for the free allowance, rates and examples.

## Bandwidth

Runtime ingress and egress are included under our [Fair Use Policy](https://sliplane.io/fair-use). There are no hard bandwidth caps or routine throttling.

Under **1 TB of outbound traffic per server per month** is clearly within fair use. If you expect sustained usage above that, [contact support](mailto\:support@sliplane.io). Short bursts are usually not an issue.
